The analysis consists of the study of 15 small tandem repeats genetic polymorphisms, without revealing any additional genetic information about the individual.
The polymorphisms analyzed are validated by the International Society of Forensic Genetics (ISFG), and guarantee an accumulated a priori exclusion probability higher than 0.9995, which is the ISFG requirement level. Normally, the paternity probability of the analysis is equal to or greater than 99.99% (practically proven paternity), and 100% for the exclusion of paternity.
There are three possible studies of biological paternity, which are technically identical but differ in the purpose for which they are requested.
Informative or paternity compatibility study: This is a curiosity study, in which the samples are obtained by the applicant from the study at home and deliver them to the laboratory. These are identified partially with letters (A possible father, B child, and mother C). Accordingly, the analysis report has no legal validity.
Legal study of paternity: The report of this study has official and legal validity, so that there is a protocol of identification of the participants and a chain of custody of the samples, as required by the legal procedures of the judicial process in Spain.
Prenatal legal study of paternity: A study that determines the biological paternity of the fetus, from samples of amniotic fluid or chorionic villi. The study report also has official and legal validity, so it is necessary to follow the same protocols and procedures as in the legal study of paternity.
The Paternity Test can be useful in the following circumstances:
• Complex processes of separation or divorce, and visitation and custody rights
• Suspicion of spouse infidelity
• Pregnancy after rape
• Reunion of relatives after many years of separation
It is not necessary to be fasting or special preparation.
Sample: EDTA whole blood, 4 swabs for oral scraping (code LD3097) or blood stain, depending on the type of study.
Documentation: General petitioner, informed consent, supporting documents and chain of custody, depending on the type of study requested.

DNA contains the genetic information of each person and is present in all our cells. The DNA of each individual is the same from conception to death, and even post-mortem (as long as the individual has not been cremated). DNA is received in equal parts of our parents, the combination of DNA we receive unique for each individual, except for identical twins, which have the same genetic fingerprint.
Genetic fingerprinting is the most reliable method today for identifying individuals, being used by police and forensic laboratories around the world.
Genetic fingerprint analysis may be of great interest in the following circumstances, for person identification or certification of biological relationships:
It is not necessary to be fasting or special preparation.
Sample: whole blood EDTA or blood stain.
Documentation: General petitioner, informed consent, supporting documents and chain of custody.
In many cases, genetic identity in relation to a person's biological kinship is determined from the genetic fingerprints of their parents or other relatives, not being practicable in situations such as adoption, donation of gametes or embryos, or lack Access to parents.
In addition, obtaining the genetic fingerprint of the newborn at the time of delivery makes it possible to identify it unequivocally. Different studies reveal that dermatoglyphic footprints are not the best method for neonatal identification when compared to footprints taken 5-6 weeks after birth.
The genetic footprint is also of interest to those who wish to file it for future uses, which are expected to be absent (wills, inheritance, etc.).
Since the DNA of each individual is the same throughout his life, it is only necessary to perform the analysis once.

The test does not require preparation, so it is not necessary to follow a specific diet or fasting. It presents a high sensitivity and specificity and detects the different types of colorectal cancer, regardless of their location. The sample for the performance of Septina9 is easily repeatable annually or biennially, which improves adherence by the patient to colon cancer screening programs. Septina9 is the only screening test for colorectal cancer in blood that is marked ΣE and approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
Men and women over 50 years of age, who do not have other risk factors for colorectal cancer.
Analysis in pregnant women is not advised, because pregnancy may alter the result. The analysis does not replace the performance of colonoscopy, which remains the diagnostic test indicated for the identification of colon cancer and for the follow-up of people with personal and / or family history of the disease.
Reservation: 30 € (included in the total amount).
