By emitting ultrasound waves applied to the scanned area, high frequency waves are applied recovering the echo produced, being transformed into images by computer processing thereof.

It is a procedure commonly used in consultation and which applies is different parts of the body (muscle, abdominal, breast, transrectal, vaginal, thyroid, ...).
